Bobby Darrell Moore

SHELBY: Mr. Bobby Darrell Moore, 61, of Shelby, died Monday, June 16, 2025 at Autumn Care of Saluda. A native of Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of the late Herman “Bud” Moore and Frances Pearson Moore. He retired from Wal Mart Private Fleet in 2016. Bobby loved to be with his family, friends, and his beloved Dachshund, Lucy. He was a lifelong mechanic and loved American muscle cars. His most recent and most important car restoration was his father’s 1966 Chevrolet Caprice. He loved frying chicken and big breakfasts with his family. Camping with his buddies at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Auto-Fair was one of his favorite past times. He was a humble man with the best sense of humor. He could find “the funny” in any situation. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his close friend and brother-in-law, James McMurry, and father-in-law, Jim McMurry.

He is survived by his former wife, Dawn McMurry Moore, daughter, Natalie Moore Raper and her husband, Chris Raper of Hendersonville; Nathan Darrell Moore, son, of Boiling Springs, grandson, Trendon Lee Moore, of Boiling Springs, Connie Moore Smith, sister, of Boiling Springs.

Memorial Service: Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Shelby. Visitation begins at 1:00pm with service to follow. Celebration of life to follow in Shelby (family will give details).
