Libby Hansen

Wilmington - Eunice Elizabeth Hansen, affectionately known as Libby, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in her hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on May 16, 1952, in Wilmington, she was 73 years old at the time of her passing.

Libby dedicated her life to her family and home, embracing her role as a homemaker with grace and love. Her hands were rarely still, as she found great joy in sewing and knitting, crafting beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her loved ones for years to come. An avid reader, she delighted in losing herself in the pages of fiction, finding solace and adventure within each story.

A compassionate soul, Libby was a devoted member of PETA, advocating for the ethical treatment of animals and inspiring those around her to show kindness to all living creatures.

Libby was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Archibald Hanby Hansen, Sr., and Eldora Alene Hansen. She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Brett, and her husband, Charles Brett, Jr.; her dear brother, Archie Hansen, and his wife, Jewel; her cherished grandchildren, Emma Greene and Hailey Brett; and her adored great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ryder Greene. She also leaves behind her niece, Juli Dharna, and her husband, Anil Dharna, along with many friends who will miss her warmth and gentle spirit.

Though services are not currently scheduled, Libby's family invites those who knew her to remember her in their own special way, celebrating the life of a woman who touched the hearts of many.
