Judy Marlene Barker

SHELBY: Judy Marlene Barker, aged 69, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in her hometown of Cleveland County. Born on June 9, 1955, she spent her life surrounded by family and friends who cherished her deeply.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her caring nature and unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the cornerstones of her life. She had a passion for music and dancing, which brought joy to all those around her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Paul Franklin Jr. and Margaret Franklin, her son Richard Barker, and two brothers, Ricky Franklin and Jimmy Franklin.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Adam Barker, along with her loving children: sons Mike Atkins and his wife Stacie, Joshua Barker and his wife Tiffany; and daughters Misty Emery and her significant other Billy, Chasity Albert and her husband Gordon. She is also survived by her two sisters, Kim Page and Pam Franklin, and her brother Dennis Franklin. Judy found endless joy in her expanding family, including her 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service following at 6:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judy's life and the light she brought into the lives of everyone she touched.
