Hampstead - Lane Scott Hoover, born on July 4, 1959, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 67. He passed peacefully at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, surrounded by his loving family.

Lane was a man of deep faith and dedication, having served as a pastor at several churches over the years. His commitment to his community and congregations was unwavering. In recent years, he brought his warmth and expertise to Ace Hardware Stores, where he was known for his helpfulness and friendly demeanor.

A graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School in 1977, Lane furthered his education at Crown College, graduating in 1994. On June 15, 1979, he married the love of his life, Kathy McKinley, with whom he shared a beautiful 47 year journey filled with love and devotion.

Lane's interests were as varied as they were numerous. He was a man who found joy in the art of gardening, cooking and cake decorating. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades, creative in how he approached life and challenges. His creativity and love for his family shone through in everything he did, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Hoover and Katherine McCloskey Hoover; his sister, Donna Cramer; and his son-in-law, Komi Kodjovi.

Lane is survived by his loving wife, Kathy McKinley Hoover; his children, Kerri Kodjovi, Cody Drinkerd (Tina), Britt Hoover (Amanda), and Tyson Hoover (Amanda); and his cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Rebecca, Jean-Paul, David, Jeremiah (fiancée Hannah), Elisha, Ariyah, Mya, Bryar, Jax and Deacon. He also leaves behind his siblings, Brenda Almeida (Ramon), Rodney Hoover (Wanda), Lynda Cramer (Terry), and Keith Hoover.

Lane's legacy of love, creativity, and service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished forever.
