Mary JoAnn Card

Mary JoAnn Card, born October 15, 1983, formally from Murphy, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 15, 2026, in Charlotte at the age of 42.

JoAnn was a shining light to all who knew her. She never met a stranger and was a joy to be around, leaving an indelible mark on everyone with her boundless warmth and kindness.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Piper Card, and their three sons, William, Alex, and Eli, who were the center of her universe. Her parents, Freddie and Joyce Conley, carry forward her legacy, as does her devoted sister, Sarah Baldwin. JoAnn’s nurturing spirit also extended to her niece, Charity Card, whom she raised like a daughter, alongside her great-niece, Hailey Card. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed by her other beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Edna Conley, JoAnn now joins them in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate JoAnn’s life at a memorial service on Friday, March 20th, at 6 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. There will be another celebration of life and inurnment in Murphy at a later date. Though her time with us was too short, JoAnn's radiant spirit and loving nature remain a source of inspiration for all who knew her. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
