SHELBY - Mary Alexander White, affectionately known as "Midge," went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on May 20, 1949, in York, South Carolina, Midge's journey through life was one of love, dedication, and service to others. She passed away peacefully in Shelby, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and inspiration.

Midge devoted her life to the well-being of children and families, spending many years working with Children's Homes of Cleveland County. Her compassion and tireless dedication made a lasting impact on countless lives. Beyond her professional work, Midge's heart was deeply invested in her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Teedah."

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life as she faithfully attended Lincolnton Church of God, Midge was a founding member of the Driven by Grace Biker Ministry, where she found camaraderie and purpose.

Midge was preceded in death by her loving parents, Cecil and Lucy Alexander, and her brother, John Robert Alexander and sister, Imogene Garrison. She is survived by her son, Aaron White and her daughter, Gina Shelton, her son-in-law Tripp;and her treasured grandchildren, Alec and Kenzie Shelton.

In accordance with Midge's wishes, no services will be held at this time. Her family asks that those who knew her keep her memory alive by praying for all children and families everywhere, everyday and by spreading kindness to others, just as she did throughout her life.

Though she may no longer walk among us, Midge's spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
